STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

The University System of Maryland (USM) Women's Forum Student Scholarship (awards up to $1000) is open to any student who meets the following criteria:
  • Attending a USM institution.
  • Earned a minimum of 48 undergraduate OR 12 graduate credits (by June 1, 2022).
  • Plan to enroll as a student for the Fall 2022 term.
  • Currently has a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for undergraduate OR 3.25 for graduate at your USM institution (upload an unofficial university transcript).
  • Demonstrated financial need (upload FAFSA or explanation of financial need)
  • Students are eligible for only one scholarship per lifetime.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT AWARDS

The USM Women's Forum Professional Staff Development Award (awards range from $250-$1000) provides funding that can be used to pursue training and/or professional development activities to enhance current job skills and/or seek career advancement opportunities and for non-credit courses and conferences.​ The Staff Scholarship is open to any staff member who meets the following criteria:
  • Employed by a USM institution as a regular employee.
  • Completed at least 1 year of cumulative service.
  • Individuals are eligible for only one scholarship per lifetime.

FACULTY RESEARCH AWARDS

The USM Women's Forum Faculty Research Award (awards up to $1000) is designed to provide a funding opportunity for faculty who are pursuing research on women's experiences: social, scientific, economic, political, and health conditions that impact women. The Faculty Research Award is open to any faculty member who meets the following criteria:
  • Holds an academic appointment at any of the University System of Maryland institutions.
  • Only one research proposal per investigator will be considered.
  •  Junior faculty members at the rank of assistant professor, research associate, instructor, or librarian I or II who are within five years of their appointment are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Not eligible to apply: Emeritus, part-time adjunct, visiting faculty, and post docs.
  • Faculty are eligible for only one research award per lifetime.
